Main CLIMEEViet activities are:

1.
12 month field studies will be conducted in Nha Phu /Nha Trang Bay. This is an intensive investigation both in time and study fields. The investigations will basically consist of one sampling a month including oceanography, meteorology, chemistry, geology and biology.

2.
Analysis of historical data including physical oceanography, meteorology, geography and biology. These studies will be based on the database of Institute of Oceanography, and hydrological and meteorological stations within Nha Trang area. The studies allow to have trends analysis. A part of the data sets would be important input for modelling of the investigated waters.

3.
Historical climate retrieval. This activity includes an investigation of two sediment cores from Nha Phu – Binh Cang Bay. Phytoplankton (mostly diatoms and dinoflagellate cysts) diversity in past time will be analysis together with sediment dating. The studies allow estimating how climate changes may influence the biodiversities in the past. Trend analysis would be applied.

4.
Capacity building will be addressed through several activities. This module includes training at both M.Sc. and PhD levels; workshops, national and international conferences; training through research; and upgrading the labs.
